Last service of year 2008
It started off with family communion today, well my cell to be exact. We came together, a bunch of 18, at Paya Lebar to have communion togther as one body. Again it warmed my hearts to see us all hand in hand, hearts locked praying together. We waited for some of them to have their family communion before all 16 odd of us took cabs back to Adam. HAHA! ben and the rest got cheated seriously. Me, reuben, delia & fabian got into the first MECEDEZ cab. The journey cost total $9. The rest got into normal cabs, the fare was $9++. HAHHA! Too bad so sad like what PGC always says. So well, knowing it would be the last we'd have cell tgt, we informally came up with a 'cell'. HAHA, we went up to the red rooms and sat in one circle, with no leader to tell us what to do, we had our own cell and started sharing. It was a great time until we got chased out xD So we went down chapel and talked somemore while the band was jamming, crreating memories, and planning outings and all. We 'chopped' the whole back row, which of course wasn't enough for all of us. HAHA :D What touched me was, they actually wanted to pray as a cell. We got out, again with no leader to tell us what to do, we took initiave and covered the cell in prayer. We prayed that even as we multiplied, our hearts will still be as one. Thanking God for all He has done in Lighthouse, how he broke down walls and created friendships. We asked God for vision and for strength and courage to step into the new season ahead of us. Again, heartwarming ttm.
Then came service. Knowing it was pastor gary's last sermon, cldnt help but carry a different heart. & sitting with people who i knew were going to NOT be in my cell next year, made my heart ached even more. The presence of God was thick. Reuben poked me halfway through the sermon and told me he'd miss this type of strong sermons already, like thanks uh. PGC preached a great sermon again, titled 'Look to the future'. Simple, but strong message as usual. There are alot of uncertainties. My cell's multiplying, PGC leaving, rising up to be a leader, discipling new SBs, sister cherie leaving, leading drama ministry- there were alot of thigns on my mind. But through God & PGC's word came forth ' Be strong and courageous'. Short altar call, but i started crying even before altar call was made. Trusting and believing in God can sometimes be scary yes? But im believing.
After the service, PDom came to announce (again) to the rest that PGC is leaving, God i cried more -.- Then the leaders had a video made for PGC - i cried SOMEMORE. Then Bro Shannon & Sis Hannah wrote a song and sang it to PGC, CRIED CRAZILY (ps. the song was really amazing, PGC cried too). Praying over him was strategic and powerful. I was all in tears by then. I went up to him after that and requested for another photo with alot of tears in my eyes still. Smiled, helped a coupel others took. Then i looked at reuben, who was teary too. Gave him ahug and shouted 'omg we're multiplying'. I went hysterical. Laughing & crying MADLY cos i was trying to mask the sobbing so i laughed and screamed like some idiot. I hugged delia and cried somemore, DEREK came back, and i hugged him and cried somemore. Until he took tissue and i cleaned up & headed home. Well, watchnight is up! lighthouse meet 5pm at singpost for dinner okay! :D

We'll, all good things do come to an end. But no, this is not the end, this is a new season. Alot of tears were shed, alot of them. It's the last Ignyte service of year 2008. And in this service, we looked back at our many events, the number of first-time visitors that increased so much and the average attendance sky rocket to two times over just 1 year. Praise God for all He has done, and thank God for Pastor Gary Chia who was used so powerfully and mightly as a vessel. Without Pastor Gary, Ignyte won't be where we are today, really. I still remember, in the beggining when the youth ministry first multiplied into 2 centres - PL & Adam - I remember dreading to come to Adam, because PGC was taking charge. Alot of us were skeptical because we were closer to Pastor Darrick. But thank goodness we stayed on, believed - and we saw breakthroughs. Under PGC's ministry, Ignyte @ Adam grew like NEVER BEFORE. Family spirit was inseparable from Ignyte youths, we knew & learnt the value of prayer & worship and what it means to speak to our mountains and stand up for God in a fallen world. I am proud of what Ignyte @ Adam is today. It's amazing, really. People who were under PGC's ministry will know how much he loves everyone of us like his own. Sermons were challenging and harsh, meeting one on one with him would often end up in stress - but after u know his heart, you will be blessed once you see yourself grow like never before. I remmeber quarrelling with him, raising my voice, yelling at this pastor that everyone literally feared because noone knew him, no one was familiar with him and everyone known him to be a fierce person. And i did just that. But no, he did not giv eup on me. He had relentless belief in me and saw me through the many seasons in my life, telling me time and time again that 'hannah, you will rise up to be a great leader one day'. Working with pastor gary over various events allowed me to know him better as a friend. He talks alot of rubbish jokes alot, plays soccer like all other young boys, winning 11, lame jokes and laughter. But we all know, that such an amazing pastor would be called for more, called for greatness. He's going to expand his territory & move up to Creative ministries to serve as a worship leader for the adult congregation. My heart ached, and i cried everytime i hear the news or see him preaching with such fire, faith and love. I think i wouldnt find that kinda spirit in any other pastor, rather i haven't, all my years in church. Thank you for everything pastor, literally. Through the ups and downs u were there, no matter how far we ran. Believed in us and loved us when no one could, challenged us and saw us through the so many seasons in our lives. Your spirit has caught on everyone of us, and hear this PGC, we will carry on the legacy you've left behind. This is for you; a friend, a confidante, a supporter, a leader - our pastor.
PS: maybe its because i've been so ministered by PGC and because without pGC i wont be here today, that;s why i always get so emotional and find it ever to hard to release him, but i will! PGC you have my blessings! Hannah will always love you and watch me okay! I will rise up tobe the leader God has called me to be and make you proud! Th
